there are many, many reasons why i would’ve wanted Remus and Sirius to get custody of Harry but one of the most important ones is my need for Petunia and Vernon being confronted with the gay disaster that is Sirius Orion Black and Remus “Sass Master Extraordinaire” Lupin. Because they thought Lily (!) was terribly abnormal and scandalous and James was probably the worst man they could imagine so JUST THINK what meeting Remus and Sirius in combination would do to them
