Black Panther….
- was the largest ever debut for a black director
- destroyed the inner-industry myth that black casts underperform overseas
- gave the representation that has been far too long overdue
- crushed box office records, and still is
- had the biggest monday success, ever
- has racked up over $400 million globally since opening in international markets
- gave us strong, intelligent, and independent female characters
- gave us a hero who wanted to learn from past mistakes and FIX them, rather than defend his own father
- gave us a villain who could’ve equally been a hero as he sought out social justice and equality
- gave us well-developed characters who were all able to uniquely hold their own (and quite frankly could all have spin-offs)
- redefined the movie industry
- redefined gender roles in a society
- REDEFINED STANDARDS FOR EVERY FUTURE MOVIE
