– literally the funniest character in the entire series
– loyal as fuck
– one of my favourite things about him is that he is scared SO MUCH. I think true courage is being scared shitless and doing it anyway
– grew up poor in a large family, struggles with the insecurity that comes with this and yet manages to still be generous and welcoming with what he has
– can be a real dick at times. sometimes he’s lazy. sometimes he’s sleepy and bored and not interested. sometimes he’s really rude. out of all the characters he’s the most human
– a lot of the most pure moments of the series are just him and Harry messing around, they have a relationship where they genuinely enjoy each other’s company so much, they love and they like each other
– balances out Hermione, tries his hardest to protect her and make the world safe for people like her. he stands up for her against snape(unlike the garbage movies suggest). as he grows up in the last few books he definitely starts to value her a lot more and treat her a lot better, I love his character growth. he comforts her when she’s upset and loses his mind when she’s being tortured
– he’s a pureblood and risks his life again and again to help muggleborns
– he’s actually really smart, like he has a lot of good ideas and is very clever, again despite what the movies like us to believe
– he’s scared of spiders and I relate to that
– he swears a lot
– he brought a pet rat to school even though rats and death eaters aren’t on the allowed pets list
